"pluralistic" faculty: a wide range of teachers

Congregation Tifereth Israel honors the teachings and best practices of all Jewish denominations. Our regular teaching staff includes Rabbi Molly Karp (Pluralistic), Rabbi Isaac Mann (Orthodox) and Rabbi Simcha Raphael (Renewal), among others. 

Rabbi Molly Karp is a freelance veteran Jewish Educator, teaching Torah, Hebrew, and more. She was ordained at the Academy for Jewish Religion in Riverdale, NY, and trained in Hebrew Bible at the Jewish Theological Seminary. Her MA in Jewish Education is from HUC-JIR in New York; her BA in Judaic Studies is from SUNY Binghamton.  Rabbi Karp's lectures are free and open to the public.  No prior knowledge is needed. 
Donations to cover her honorarium are welcome.

SUNDAY MORNING BOOK GROUP

The Sharyn Berliner Book Group meets approximately every two months on Sunday mornings between 10:30 am and noon. The selected books are either on Jewish topics or written by Jewish authors. Open to both men and women, the meetings are filled with stimulating discussions and sharing fresh bagels with friends. 

Lunch & Learn 

Wednesday afternoons beginning at 12:00 pm, Bill Friedlieb leads our weekly Lunch & Learn classes held in the CTI Library. This is an opportunity for adults to discuss scholarship of Jewish texts and relevant current events.

Challah Baking

Come, enjoy and learn how to bake challah at CTI on Friday mornings. These gatherings are filled with camaraderie, fun and the most wonderful aromas! Check with office, 516-676-5080 to ensure bakers are baking on any given Friday.

Learning with Rabbi Irwin

Anyone can join the Rabbi's stimulating seminars and workshops that cover a wide range of topics, including: "All You Wanted to Know about Judaism," "Books that Did Not Make it Into the Bible," "Kaballah," "Study of the Psalms" and more. "The Torah begins with kindness. The Torah ends with kindness."

Conversion/Independent Study
