August 20, 2010

I’m out of town this week preparing for the High Holidays. This will be a very short update.

Shabbat Under the Stars

Please join us tonight a half hour earlier than usual for Shabbat Under the Stars.

We will be welcoming Shabbat with song and dance on our synagogue’s front patio. It’s also our monthly birthday Shabbat. There will be a special blessing for all born during the month of August.

All singers, musicians, and dancers are welcome. Guests are always welcome.

We’ll begin at 7:30pm.

Project Isaiah

Shopping bags to be filled for our annual Project Isaiah “food for the needy” drive will arrive in your mail next week.

Last year, we gathered 130 bags of food between Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur.

Let’s do our best to exceed that total this year.

Jewish Week Article Features CTI

Jewish Week, one of New York’s most widely circulated Jewish newspapers, has published
a kind article
on the growth of our congregation, along with Congregation B’Nai Israel in Freeport.

Best wishes to everyone for a restful Shabbat. We will have a number of new families joining us for Friday evening and Saturday morning services.

Please help us welcome them.

Shabbat shalom v’kol tuv,

Rabbi Irwin Huberman
